A new adventure

One is never too old to learn, right? Exactly. And I proved that to myself!

The background story: In order to become less dependent on supply chains etc., I wanted to design my origami paper myself (we'll leave the hassle with licences and the like aside).

So far, so good. My designs so far were ... er ... not presentable. And after endless hours (days) of frustration and despair I had given up.

Then Janet Warren, who I follow on Instagram, mentioned her course "First Steps in Fabric Design“. As the primary aim of the course is to design fabrics (and have them printed), I was hesitant. However, I couldn't get it out of my head and since I was convinced that the principle should also be transferable to paper (which it does perfectly), I took the course after all. I haven't regretted it for a minute!

So, if you've ever dreamed of designing your own fabrics (or origami paper, like me) but don't know how, I highly recommend Janet's course! It helped me straighten out a few of my brain twists (and there are a lot of them) and there's been no stopping me ever since!

If I carry on at this rate, the wooden stitch markers of the next collection will all be adorned in outfits of my own design! Now I really have to show you some of my designs! I am eager to hear whether you like them!

BTW: The course I did was with the recording of a live session of a Fabric und Craft Club zoom call. You can get in touch with Janet for more details on live sessions her Website as well as on Instagram.

It was great chatting to you! Let's meet again soon.
